Why does the "paint" appear to be peeling inside my Napoleon Grill lid?
    • B
      Bob BakerAug 16, 2025
To prevent grease build-up on the inside of your Napoleon Grill lid, which can appear like peeling paint, clean your grill regularly. The finish on the lid is porcelain and doesn't peel; the peeling effect is hardened grease flaking off. Regular cleaning will prevent this.

What to do if the infrared burner flashes back on my Napoleon R525 Grill?
    • W
      William GilbertSep 12, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill's infrared burner flashes back, turn it off and let it cool for two minutes. Relight it and burn on high for five minutes until the ceramic tiles glow red evenly. Make sure no more than 75% of the grill surface is covered. If the issue continues, let the burner cool, check for cracks, and contact your Napoleon dealer for a replacement if needed. This can be caused by ceramic tiles overloaded with grease, clogged ports, overheating due to inadequate ventilation, cracked tiles, or a leaking gasket.

How to fix low heat or low flame on my Napoleon R525 when the valve is on high?
    • M
      mwilcoxAug 22, 2025
If your Napoleon Grill has low heat or flame when the valve is on high, ensure you follow the lighting procedure carefully. For propane, make sure all gas grill valves are off when you turn on the tank valve slowly to allow pressure to equalize. For natural gas, the pipe must be sized according to the installation code. For both gases, preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes.

What to do if my Napoleon R525 Grill has excessive flare-ups or uneven heat?
    • K
      kellytaylorAug 26, 2025
Excessive flare-ups and uneven heat on your Napoleon Grill can be due to sear plates installed incorrectly, improper preheating, or excessive grease and ash build-up. Ensure sear plates are installed with the holes towards the front and the slots on the bottom. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes. Clean sear plates and the drip pan regularly; do not line the pan with aluminum foil.

Why won't the main burner light with the igniter on my Napoleon Grill?
    • J
      jesserussellAug 27, 2025
If the main burner on your Napoleon Grill won't light with the igniter but lights with a match, the jet-fire outlet may be dirty or clogged. Clean the jet-fire outlet with a soft bristle brush.

Why do the burners on my Napoleon R525 have a yellow flame and smell of gas?
    • R
      Rebecca HolmesAug 30, 2025
If the burners on your Napoleon Grill burn with a yellow flame and smell of gas, it could be due to a spider web or other debris, or improper air shutter adjustment. Thoroughly clean the burner after removing it. Slightly open the air shutter according to combustion air adjustment instructions. (This must be done by a qualified gas installer.)

Why is the burner output on "high" setting too low on my Napoleon Grill?
    • A
      amyersSep 2, 2025
If the burner output on the high setting is too low on your Napoleon Grill, check the gas level in the propane cylinder. Reposition the supply hose if it is pinched. Clean the burner orifice and venturi tube. Ensure the lighting procedure is followed carefully: all gas grill valves must be off when the tank valve is turned on, and turn the tank on slowly to allow pressure to equalize. This issue may be caused by a lack of gas, a pinched supply hose, a dirty or clogged orifice, spider webs in the venturi tube, or a propane regulator in a “low flow” state.

Why do the flames lift away from the burner on my Napoleon R525?
    • S
      Sydney JimenezSep 5, 2025
If the flames lift away from the burner on your Napoleon Grill, accompanied by the smell of gas, and possibly difficulties in lighting, it may be due to improper air shutter adjustment. Close the air shutter slightly according to combustion air adjustment instructions. (This must be done by a qualified gas installer.)

Why won't the rear and side burners light with the igniter on my Napoleon R525 Grill?
    • S
      Sherry HernandezSep 7, 2025
If the rear and side burners on your Napoleon Grill will not light with the igniter but will light with a match, replace the battery with a premium heavy-duty battery, ensuring it is installed correctly. Check that the electrode wire is firmly pushed onto the terminal on the back of the igniter and that the lead wires from the module to the ignition switch are firmly pushed onto their terminals. Also, slightly close the air shutter.

What to do if burners will not cross light each other on my Napoleon R525?
    • K
      Kayla KellySep 10, 2025
If the burners on your Napoleon Grill will not cross-light each other, clean or replace the dirty or corroded cross-light brackets as required.
