  If you observe what appears to be 'paint' peeling inside the lid or hood of your Napoleon Grill, this is not a defect. The finish on the lid and hood is porcelain and will not peel. The peeling is caused by hardened grease, which dries into paint-like shards that flake off. Regular cleaning will prevent this. See the cleaning instructions for guidance.

A dirty or clogged orifice can also restrict gas flow, so clean the burner orifice. Spider webs or other material in the venturi tube can also cause this issue, so clean out the venturi tube.
