IfyourUSBhardwaredoesnotshowupinthedevicemanager,Windows
didnotdetectyourhardware.Tosolvethisproblem,completethe
followingsteps:
1. SelectStart»ControlPanelanddouble-clicktheSystemicon.
2. SelecttheHardwaretabandclicktheDeviceManagerbutton.
TheDeviceManagerwindowshouldappearasshownbelow.
3. Double-clickthePorts(COM&LPT)icon.VerifythatallUSB
serialcommunicationportsaredisplayedwithoutexclamation
marks(!).IfanyUSBserialporthasanexclamationmark,right-
clicktheportandselectUninstall.
4. Double-clicktheUniversalSerialBusControllersicon.Verify
thatnoUSBCompositeDeviceshaveexclamationmarks(!).If
anyUSBCompositeDevicehasanexclamationmark,right-click
theportandselectUninstall.
5. ClicktheScanforHardwareChangesiconatthetopofthe
DeviceManagerwindow.
6. Windowsshouldautomaticallydetectyourhardware.
7. Ifanyofyourserialportsarestillnotvisible,disconnectand
reconnecttheUSBserialhardwaretoadifferentUSBportand
returntostep2.
