5.8 Navien On-Demand Control Kit (Optional)
Navien On Demand Control Kit is an add-on input board for the Navien NPE-A series water heaters. It adds
signal input functions to the NPE-A series water heaters for more efficient DHW hot water recirculation
functionality.
With the On Demand Control Kit, DHW recirculation is carried out exactly when the actual demands arise.
This prevents energy loss caused by unnecessary operation of the burner a nd pump throughout th e day.
The On Demand Control Kit can receive signals from multiple push buttons installed in various areas and
performs optimal DHW recirculation only when there is a demand for hot water.
CAUTION
This device is designed to work with the NPE-A series models ONLY.
Basic Principles
The following diagram shows the basic operation of an NPE-A series water heater system with the Navien On-Demand control kit.
CAUTION
The Navien On-Demand control kit can be used ONLY with a water heater system configured for DHW recirculation.
