•Cleartheareabeforestartingtheengine.

•Theengineandvehicleshouldbeoperatedorservicedonlybyqualiedindividuals.
•Providenecessaryventilationwhenoperatingengineinaclosedarea.
•Keepcombustiblematerialawayfromengineexhaustsystemandexhaustmanifolds.
•Installallshields,guards,andaccesscoversbeforeoperatingengineorvehicle.
•Donotrunenginewithunprotectedairinletsorexhaustopenings.Ifunavoidableforservicereasons,put
protectivescreensoverallopeningsbeforeservicingengine.
•Shutengineoffandrelieveallpressureinthesystembeforeremovingpanels,housingcovers,andcaps.
•Ifanengine,orvehicle,isnotsafetooperate,tagtheignitionkey.
FirePrevention
•Makesurechargedreextinguishersareintheworkarea.
NOTE–Checktheclassicationofeachreextinguishertoensurethatthefollowingretypescanbe
extinguished.
