Overview

The NEJE E80 is a powerful laser module designed for engraving and cutting, featuring advanced hybrid compression technology for superior performance. It is primarily intended for large stock removal and powerful cuts, offering both strength and precision.

Function Description

The NEJE E80 is a laser module that utilizes a 450nm semiconductor laser with a fixed focus position of 25mm from the body. It is designed to be integrated into laser engraving and cutting machines, particularly compatible with the NEJE 3 Max (motherboard V1.1 and above) when paired with a 24V power supply. The module's core function is to generate a high-density laser beam for precise material processing.

The device includes a PWM/Temperature tester board and an interface switch/transfer board, facilitating control and monitoring. It is powered by a 24V 5A power adapter and comes with various cables for connectivity. An adjustable Z-axis mechanism allows for precise height and focus adjustments, crucial for achieving optimal cutting and engraving results.

For enhanced cutting performance, the E80 supports air assist, which helps blow off carbonized material and achieve cleaner edges. It can utilize two types of air assist: a conical air nozzle for oil-free and water-free air sources, and a stainless steel pipe air nozzle for oily water air sources, offering flexibility based on user needs and maintenance preferences.

Usage Features

The NEJE E80 boasts several features that enhance its usability and performance:

Hybrid Compression Technology: This technology results in a small focal point of 0.1x0.1mm and a high power density of 2400W/mm². This makes the E80 35% more powerful than comparable 40W modules, even when operating at half power. This advanced optical design ensures excellent performance and a longer lifespan compared to other 20W modules.

Powerful and Precise Cutting: Designed as a 4xLD module, the E80 excels at removing large amounts of material and performing powerful cuts. Its HYBRID Technology, which includes Non-Destructive FAC and Combined Compression Laser System Technology, delivers superior performance compared to similar 20W and 40W laser modules. This results in a smaller focus, smaller angle, and XY symmetry, leading to cleaner edges and reduced risk of material catching fire. It can even cut high-density materials without air assist, making it revolutionary for thick wood cutting.

Reliable and Durable Design: The E80 is engineered for stable performance and longevity. Its service life is 50% longer than ordinary 20W modules, thanks to careful material selection, thermal calculations, and extensive testing. NEJE's 10 years of manufacturing experience and 3 years of reliable verification testing have culminated in a robust and dependable diode laser design.

Optimized Optical System: After three years of research, NEJE developed a unique 20W laser system that incorporates external FAC and lens compression composite technology. This complex system offers better optical characteristics than standard 20W lasers, with good X and Y symmetry in each focal length. The focal energy density is 400% higher, and the divergence angle is reduced by 50%, leading to cleaner cuts, faster efficiency, less smoke, and a more durable and reliable service life.

Fixed Focus for Ease of Use: The E80 is a fixed-focus module, simplifying setup. The fixed focus position is 25mm from the module's body. For precise focusing, users can place grey cardboard on the material surface and observe the minimum focal point through protective goggles or the module's shade, leveraging the visibility of the 450nm semiconductor laser.

Z-axis Control for High-Efficiency Cutting: For optimal results, especially with the NEJE Max 4, the E80 recommends using variable Z-axis multi-layer sinking settings. This allows for cutting from the material surface layer by layer, achieving high-efficiency cutting. If the machine's Z-axis is fixed, adjusting the focus to the upper middle position of the material and repeating cuts is recommended.

Low Light Focus Finding: Users can quickly find the focus by adjusting the low light setting in the NEJE Win software (for NEJE mode) or the laserGRBL software (for GRBL mode). A value between 0.03 and 0.5 is suggested for this purpose.

Air Assist Integration: The E80 is designed to work with air assist for cutting carbonized materials. While not always necessary for shallow engravings or thin plywood, it is highly recommended for materials that produce more carbonization. The air nozzle should be aligned with the cutting port for effective smoke removal. For high-density materials like MDF and leather, air assistance with a pressure of at least 30psi is required.

Safety Features: The device includes safety warnings such as "Mind The Fire," "Wear Goggles," "No Touching," and "Mirror Object." Users are advised to wear protective glasses, avoid touching the laser outlet, and ensure adult supervision for users over 14 years old.

Maintenance Features

The NEJE E80 incorporates features that simplify maintenance and ensure long-term performance:

Replaceable Protective Lenses: The E80 comes with two high-temperature-resistant (1000°C) protective lenses that are replaceable. This allows users to easily swap out lenses if they become damaged or worn, extending the module's lifespan.

Regular Lens Cleaning: Despite its internal air-assisted design, long-term use can lead to dust or smoke affecting the lens. Regular cleaning of the lens with a clean cotton swab is recommended to prevent overheating and potential burnout, which could delay usage.

Air Assist System Considerations:

  • Conical Air Nozzle: If using the conical air nozzle with an oil-free and water-free air source, it's important to regularly clean the built-in protective lens, as ordinary oil-water filters may not completely remove impurities.
  • Stainless Steel Pipe Air Nozzle: This option allows for the use of oily water air sources, making maintenance easier. The metal pipe facilitates quick cleaning of the lens, and it's essential to align it with the focus for optimal performance.

Quiet Design and Temperature Feedback: The module features a quiet design with a built-in control IC that dynamically adjusts the fan based on the working state, contributing to its longevity and user comfort. It also provides temperature feedback, though users are advised to ignore this for connectivity purposes.
