  If you cannot access the modem router configuration through your browser, verify that your computer’s IP address is on the same subnet as the modem router. Check the connection from your computer to the modem router and reboot your computer. Ensure that your browser has Java, JavaScript, or ActiveX enabled. Try quitting and relaunching your browser. Also, make sure you are using the correct login information: the username is 'admin' and the default password is 'password', both in lowercase.

  If the LAN LED is off for a port with an Ethernet connection, ensure that the Ethernet cable connections are securely connected to both the modem router and the hub or computer. Check that power is turned on to the connected hub or computer. Also, make sure you are using the correct cable.

  If all LEDs are off when the modem router is plugged in, ensure that the power cord is properly connected to your modem router and that the power supply adapter is properly connected to a functioning power outlet. Check that you are using the 12 V DC power adapter supplied by NETGEAR for this product. If the error persists, you have a hardware problem. Contact technical support.

  If the Internet LED is off and your NETGEAR Wireless Router is connected to the cable television cable, make sure that the coaxial cable connections are secure both at the router and the wall jack. Also, ensure that your cable service provider has provisioned your cable Internet service. Remove any excessive splitters on your cable line, or run a 'home run' back to where the cable enters your home.
