Plasma Engine
Note for stepper motors: a stepper works in open loop, so it can lose steps from too high
running speed where there is not enough torque, or too high accelerations/decelerations or can
be a mechanical problem which causes higher torque requirement on the axis, or a combination
of these. Or it can be a power supply problem that the Voltage drops down too much when more
axis moving together. Or if could be the capacitors in the power supply not holding the voltage
(electrolyte dry out) causing more EMI which causes lost or extra steps. Please pay attention for
this.
Steps in mm
Description: The value is based on the counts of pulses for 1 mm torch move.
Automatic Speed
Description: This speed is used for all automatic rapid moves such as the End-of-Cut-Retract or
the Initial Approach to the workpiece. This value depends on the lifter motor speed, the screw
pitch, the weight of the lifter load and the desired speed of operation.
NOTE: The maximum βSpeedβ value can be calculated using the following formula
ππππ₯ = 60 β
ππππ₯
ππ’πππ‘
where ππππ₯ is the maximum step frequency of the Neuron pulse engine 100 kHz and ππ’πππ‘ is
the βCounts per Unitβ of your torch slide.
Example: let the torch slide Counts per Unit be 3200. The maximum velocity is then
ππππ₯ = 60 β
100000
3200
= 1875 π’πππ‘π /πππ
Neuron plugin will automatically reduce the maximum velocity if it is configured above the limit.
