Choose whether to use electronic VR (vibration reduction) when taking still pictures.

Option Description
M Auto
In the following conditions, electronic VR is applied and the effects
of camera shake are reduced.
• When the flash mode is set to y Flash off
• The shutter speed is slow
• When the subject is dark
b Off (default setting) Electronic VR is disabled.
B Notes About Electronic VR
• Electronic VR is disabled while the flash is used.
• If the exposure period exceeds a certain period of time, electronic VR will not function.
• Electronic VR cannot be used when using the following scenes.
- Take a series of pictures (A 38)
- Shoot at intervals (A 39)
- Photograph fireworks (A 41)
• The effectiveness of electronic VR decreases as camera shake increases.
• The images captured may become somewhat grainy.
