In the T
TL
or non-TTL automatic mode, both the ready-
lights
on
the flash unit and
in
the camera's v
ie
wfinder
blink for 3 seconds after the flash unit fired at its max
i-
mum output, indicating that
th
e light might have been
insufficient for correct exposure.
In this case, check the
subject distance and
if
it
is out of the
au
tomatic shooting
ra
nge, use a wider aperture if

t

subject. Becau
se
the voltage of batteries decreases
with u
se
, the guide number might also
be
reduced
sl
ightly.
The flash output of the 8B-16 depends
on
the available
ambient light and the reflectivity of the subject. Note that,
because of these factors, the ready-light may blink to
indicate that the light
ou
tput was
in
sufficient for correct
exposure, even if the subject
is
within the auto shooting
range.
Other warni
ng
s shown
by
the ready-light's blinking vary
according
to
the ty
pe
of flash unit and the camera
in
use.
