ZR-6 MULTIZONE SYSTEM DESIGN GUIDE
PLUG-AND-PLAY iPod INTEGRATION
A 30-pin connector provides an install connection for an iPod
digital music player as Source 2. All of the iPod commands are
already built into the ZR-6.
BUILT-IN AM/FM TUNER
A digital AM/FM tuner with up to 20 preset stations is built
into the ZR-6 providing radio reception without the need for
additional components, connections, or programming.
4 OHM STABLE DIGITAL AMPLIFIER
The advanced digital power ampli er delivers 50 watts per zone
(25 watts per channel) and has the ability to comfortably drive
two pairs of 8 ohm speakers per zone.
RS-232 AND DISCRETE IR CONTROL PER ZONE
Control the ZR-6 with third-party systems using RS-232 control
protocols and/or infrared commands.
ZONE 4, 5, AND 6 PREAMP OUTPUTS
Connect an external ampli er to provide more power for a large
area such as a patio, or for a zone where higher than normal
volume levels are desired. The preamp outputs can be switched
for xed or variable levels.
12V CONTROL OUTPUTS (ZONE 4, 5, 6 AND GLOBAL)
Automate power turn-on and turn-off of connected components
such as a Niles AC-3 Voltage Triggered AC Power Strip.
PAGING INPUT
Connect a telephone system and/or doorbell to provide paging
throughout the home. Overrides all other inputs and can be
con gured to work in any number of zones.
PARTY MODE
The Party Mode turns on all zones (or a pre-con gured number
of zones) to play the same source of music, instantly lling the
house with music.
HOME THEATER SYNC
The ZR-6 can share source components with an independent
home theater system. When the home theater receiver is on, the
ZR-6 will stay active (even if all zones are turned off) and will
continue to execute the appropriate 12V and IR functions.
