How to fix NordicTrack T5ZI if the power does not turn on?
    • M
      Michael GonzalezJul 31, 2025
To ensure your NordicTrack Treadmill receives power, first, plug the power cord into a surge suppressor, then plug the surge suppressor into a grounded outlet, using a single-outlet surge suppressor. Note that the treadmill isn't compatible with GFCI-equipped outlets. After plugging in, ensure the key is inserted into the console. Lastly, check the reset/off circuit breaker on the treadmill frame near the power cord. If the switch protrudes, the breaker has tripped; wait five minutes, then press the switch back in to reset it.

If the incline of your NordicTrack Treadmill isn't changing correctly, insert the key and press an incline button. While it's changing, remove the key, wait a few seconds, and re-insert it. The treadmill should automatically rise to the maximum incline and then return to the minimum level, recalibrating the incline system.

      Michael SnowAug 10, 2025
If your NordicTrack Treadmill turns off during use, check the reset/off circuit breaker and reset it if tripped by waiting five minutes before pressing it back in. Ensure the power cord is securely plugged in; if it is, unplug it, wait five minutes, and plug it back in. Also, remove and reinsert the key from the console. If the issue persists, please consult the front cover of this manual.

Why does my NordicTrack T5ZI walking belt slow when walked on?
    • M
      mejiakristenAug 15, 2025
If the walking belt of your NordicTrack Treadmill slows down when you walk on it, ensure you are using a single-outlet surge suppressor that meets the specified requirements. If the belt is overtightened, remove the key and unplug the power cord. Use a hex key to turn both idler roller bolts counterclockwise by 1/4 turn. The belt should allow you to lift each edge 2 to 3 inches off the platform when properly tightened. Keep the belt centered, plug the power cord back in, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the belt is properly tightened. If the issue continues, consult the front cover of the manual.

What to do if NordicTrack T5ZI walking belt is off-center or slips?
    • W
      William VargasAug 19, 2025
To correct an off-center or slipping walking belt on your NordicTrack Treadmill, first, remove the key and unplug the power cord. For an off-center belt, if it has shifted left, turn the left idler roller bolt clockwise 1/2 turn; if shifted right, turn it counterclockwise 1/2 turn. To fix a slipping belt, turn both idler roller bolts clockwise 1/4 turn. Ensure the belt isn't overtightened—you should be able to lift each edge 2 to 3 inches off the platform. Keep the belt centered. Plug the power cord back in, insert the key, and run the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the belt is properly adjusted.

Why do the console displays on my NordicTrack Treadmill stay lit after removing the key?
    • B
      Brian AndersonAug 26, 2025
If the console displays on your NordicTrack Treadmill remain lit after removing the key, the demo mode is likely activated, which is intended for store displays. To deactivate it, press and hold the Stop button for a few seconds. If the displays are still lit, refer to THE INFORMATION MODE on page 20 to turn off the demo mode.
