Possible Reason
Corrective Action
Failed circuit board
To check (Figure 6.9):
(a) Disconnect hose plug (nonheating
gun) from applicator
(b) Normal resistance reading (power
off!) between hose plug pins 4 and 6
(heater), pins 4 and 7
(heater-to-ground), and pins 6 and 7
(heater-to-ground) at appropriate
connector JlA - J5A
Normal (pins 4 and 6) = *lo% of
resistance value listed in Section 9;
(pins 4 and 7) >l megohm; (pins 6
and 7) >l megohm
AND
Replace circuit board
(a) Disconnect circuit board plug
(nonheating hose) from circuit board
(b) Normal resistance reading (power
off!) between hose plug pins 4 and 6
(heater), pins 4 and 7
(heater-to-ground), and pins 6 and 7
(heater-to-ground) at appropriate
connector Jl - J5 (Figure 6.10)
Failed hose/gun connector assembly
To check:
Replace hose/gun connector
assembly
Normal resistance reading (power
off!) between hose plug pins 4 and 6
(heater), pins 4 and 7
(heater-to-ground), and pins 6 and 7
(heater-to-ground) at appropriate
connector Jl A - J5A as above
AND
(a) Disconnect circuit board plug
(nonheating hose) from circuit board
(b) Abnormal resistance reading
(power off!) between hose plug pins 4
and 6 (heater), pins 4 and 7
(heater-to-ground), and pins 6 and 7
(heater-to-ground) at appropriate
connector Jl - J5 as above
