25B Air Motor and Air Valve 25B 4:1 Hydraulic Section Repair
Disassembly
See Figure 7-2 on page 7-4.
1. Remove the three hex nuts (19) and lockwashers (18) from the tie rods (17).

3. Remove the ball cage (14), cage pin (13), and ball (15).
NOTE: Over time, the siphon ball and siphon seat wear into each other, so keep the ball
and siphon housing together as a matched set if you are not replacing both. The siphon
seat is pressed into the housing: if the seat is worn or damaged you must replace the
siphon housing.
4. Unscrew the tie rods from the solvent chamber (1).
5. Place the hydraulic section on wood blocks as shown.
6. Drive the plunger assembly (A) out of the upper packing gland (2) with a hardwood
dowel.
7. Insert a long punch through the two holes in the solvent chamber and drive out the
pressure housing and upper packing gland.
8. Remove the O-rings (11) from the pressure housing.

10. Remove the lower back-up washer (7), piston cup (6), energizing washer (5), and
upper back-up washer (4).
11. Remove the ball (8) from the plunger and the O-ring (9) from the pressure ball seat.
