2300 RETROFIT MELTER FEEDER KIT
INTRODUCTION
The 2300 Retrofit Melter :Feeder Kit is designed to convert the
2300 with the Robert Shaw Controller, 2000 Series, Model IV,
Model V, Model VII and Model IX Melter Feeders to the new 2300
Melter Feeder. The new Melter Feeder is more user friendly and ef-
ficient. This improved performance is a result of the new Hood
and Chute Assembly design and the addition of the Rechner
Sensor.
UNPACKING
Carefully remove the kit components from the shipping container
and compare them with the list provided below. Inspect the com-
ponents for obvious signs of damage. If damage is found, contact
your Nordson Sales representative.

Return feeder upright, drill holes for new bracket, attach Rechner Controller, and connect new conduit.

Final Assembly and PMI Board Installation

Route sensor, install new chute/hood, mount sensor bracket, install PMI board, and connect PMI conduit.

Securing, Sensor Mounting, and Calibration Prep

Secure enclosures, mount Rechner Sensor, prepare for PMI and Rechner Controller calibration.

PARENT MACHINE INTERLOCK INSTALLATION

PMI Installation Procedure

Disconnect power, remove electrical enclosure, separate terminal block, unplug board, and tilt circuit board.

Connecting PMI Board and Associated Components

Attach PMI board to main board, connect PMI light, and wire PMI leads to terminals.

Final PMI Connections and Board Reinstallation

Reconnect terminal block, secure main circuit board, and reconnect interface plugs.

LEVEL CONTROL SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT

Adhesive Filling and Initial Potentiometer Setting

Fill tank to 1 inch below sensor, locate controls, and set sensitivity potentiometer to midrange.

Final Sensitivity Adjustment and Notes

Adjust pot until LED changes, observe fill sequence, and note sensor cleaning.
