11. Maintenance
Training is an option at OligoMakers headquarter in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The daily maintenance:
1. Cleaning the needles below the valve manifold with a suitable solvent (acetone or
ethyl acetate, NOT ethanol) using for example a toothbrush.
2. "Priming" of reagents before starting a synthesis.
3. Check the tubing and the valves for leakage.
4. Clean the top of the reaction block with a suitable solvent (acetone or ethyl acetate,
NOT ethanol).
5. Clean the teflon-ring on the reaction block.
Reaction block with columns
In case of a pump failure, the vacuum pump has to be inspected. The membranes are
cleaned with suitable solvent (acetone or ethyl acetate) and the pump is reassembled. If
the membranes are damaged, replace the pump.
