Inserting the hook assembly into the scope forc-
ibly may damage the scope unit and the hook
assembly.

Any abnormal deformities or foreign objects in the
chuck screw?
Does the chuck screw rotate smoothly to clamp or
release the hook assembly?
Contact Olympus.
Is the safety cap attached securely? See “3-12 Replacing
the safety cap”
(page38).
Hook
assembly
Any irregularities such as buckling, stretching, part
separation, crushing and excessive bending?
Continued use in this condition may damage the
hook assembly or the hook assembly may fall off.
Replace the hook
assembly with a new
one.
