Selecting the mode
[Mode Select]
With this recorder, you can choose between
normal mode and simple mode, which lists
frequently used functions.
In simple mode, the displayed text becomes
larger for easier viewing.
[Normal Mode]:
This is the standard mode in which all
functions are available.
[Simple Mode]:
This mode lists frequently used
functions. Displayed text becomes
larger for easier viewing.
Restoring the default settings
[Reset Settings]
The [Reset Settings] function restores all
the voice recorder’s functions to their initial
(factory default) settings. Time setting and file
number will remain the same.

• When setting the hour or minut

time you press the FOLDER/INDEX
button the display changes between
the AM/PM and 24-hour clock formats.

f the batteries are removed from the
voice recorder, the [Time & Date]
screen is displayed automatically when
the power is turned on.
WS-853 model only:
• If you use nickel-metal hydride
rechargeable batteries (BR404), the
[Time & Date] screen may be displayed
when the batteries are running out
of power, even though they have not
been replaced.
