Why is there no sound coming from my Onkyo CR-505DAB speakers?
    • J
      john26Aug 26, 2025
Several factors could be at play. First, ensure the speaker cables are properly connected, and no wires are touching each other or any metal parts. Check that the volume isn't set to minimum and that the receiver isn't muted. If headphones are connected, disconnect them. Verify the correct input source is selected. Finally, inspect connecting cables for damage and replace if needed.

How to fix Onkyo CR-505DAB Car Receiver CD playback skips?
    • W
      waynegardnerAug 27, 2025
Skipping can occur due to vibration, so ensure your CR-505DAB is installed in a place free from vibration. Also, the disc may be dirty or scratched. Remove the disc and clean it. If the disc is very scratched, consider buying a new one.

What to do if my Onkyo Car Receiver doesn’t play a CD?
    • D
      Dawn OrtizAug 27, 2025
First, make sure the disc is loaded with the label-side facing up. If the disc is dirty, remove it and clean it. If condensation has formed inside the CR-505DAB, remove the disc and leave the unit turned on for several hours until the condensation has evaporated. Finally, the CD-R/RW disc may be nonstandard.

Why is there no sound when a timed playback or recording task starts on my Onkyo Car Receiver?
    • B
      Blake SerranoSep 18, 2025
While a timed recording task is in progress, the output of the CR-505DAB is muted. To hear what’s being recorded, press the [MUTING] button to cancel the Mute function. Press it again to mute the CR-505DAB. For timed playback, the volume is determined by the [VOLUME] control, so set the volume to a suitable level.

Why does my Onkyo Car Receiver turn itself on unexpectedly?
    • W
      William BrownSep 14, 2025
The ACCUCLOCK function may be calibrating the clock. This is not a malfunction. The CR-505DAB will turn itself off automatically when the ACCUCLOCK function has calibrated the clock.

Why didn't the timer work on my Onkyo Car Receiver?
    • C
      Christine MejiaSep 15, 2025
Several reasons could cause this: the CR-505DAB was already on at the specified ON time, so set the CR-505DAB to Standby. The connected cassette tape deck or MD recorder had not been in standby mode, so set the recording devices to standby mode too. The specified ON time coincided, or overlapped the ON time of another timer, so check the timer settings and correct as necessary. Finally, the CR-505DAB may only be connected digitally to the MD recorder. To make recordings with -connected MD recorder, connect the recorder’s analog inputs to the CR-505DAB’s analog outputs.

Why do my Onkyo CR-505DAB Car Receiver radio presets no longer work?
    • S
      stonecourtneySep 6, 2025
If the power cord has not been connected to a wall outlet, or the power has been turned off for an extended period, you may need to preset your favorite radio stations again. Ensure the power cord is plugged into a wall outlet a few times each month to preserve the presets.

Why is my Onkyo CR-505DAB Car Receiver reception noisy and intermittent?
    • S
      Steven MasonSep 3, 2025
This could be due to being too far from the transmitter, the FM antenna being in the wrong position or pointing in the wrong direction, or poor signal strength. Try switching the FM Mode to Mono. You can also adjust the position, height, and direction of your FM antenna.
