Brake System Warning Light
Your vehicle has dual brake systems, one for the front
and one for the rear. If one system fails, the other
system can still stop your vehicle.
The brake system warning
light should come on as you
start the engine. If it doesn’t
come on, then have it fixed
so it will be ready to warn
you if there is a problem.
If the warning light comes on when you are driving,
teher could be a problem with the brake system, the
rear wheel anti-lock system or the parking brake. Have
the brake system inspected right away.
Malfunction Indicator Lamp
The malfunction indicator
lamp monitors the fuel, the
ignition and emission
control systems. The light
whould come on when the
ignition is on, but the
engine is not running, as
a check to show you it is
working properly.
If it does not come on at all, have it fixed right away.
If it stays on, or comes on while you are driving, take
your vehicle in for service.
