Sure Sort™ Operator Manual
OPEX Corporation
Path sensor - Used to provide feedback as to the location of an item in the
system.
Power supply 28VDC - This supplies the 28VDC to the charges rails. This is a
high current device and should be handled by a qualified technician.
Reject bin - This bin is on the opposite side of the Induct module. This is where
items end up when they are rejected. These items are considered machine
rejects, for reasons such as: too long, jam sorts, or gap too small.
Return Conveyor - The optional return conveyor is used to return a rejected
item back to the operator. Items that come back are mostly items that were not
scanned properly. The return conveyor is motorized and moves items with a
conveyor belt.
Serial interface - This circuit board interfaces information from the host
computer to the main I/O board.
Stacker door - A door at the front of the machine and the back. This door gives
you access to the inside of the machine.
Sweeper - Operator in charge of emptying bins once they are full, or when an
order is complete. The sweeper may also be responsible for clearing 'Failing to
Unload' and 'Bin Blocked' scenarios.
Traffic Controller - A layer of system software acting as the central coordinator
for the OPEX wireless network.
Touch screen Monitor - This is a computer monitor/user interface that does not
need a mouse or keyboard. You can touch the screen to choose what you
want.
Transceiver - The transceiver is the wireless device that communicates and
tracks the iBOTs. The iBOTs transmit their location back to the transceiver as
well. The transceiver PC board is mounted on the stacker module above the
loading column.
Ultracapacitors - The iBOTs contain a set of capacitors that stores electrical
charge and provides power for the iBOT to run. The capacitors hold enough
charge for several loops in the system, and they get charged every time an
iBOT goes up the loading column.
Waterfall - This feature allows customers to send up to three destinations to an
iBOT. The iBOT will check all given destinations in order, and the first one that
is available will be used.
