SECTION 4 OPERATION

4.8 CONSTANT CURRENT MODE
The default mode of operation for the ACX is constant current mode. In this mode, the output
voltage will be reduced once the set current limit is reached to maintain the current level drawn by
the load. Once the load current demand drops below the set current limit level, the programmed
output voltage is restored automatically. Thus, the AC Source continues to operate even if the
UUT demands more current than the set current limit value. This current limit function is an
average responding RMS current limit with a 50 msec response time.
The current limit value can be set in the PROGRAM screen by entering the EDIT mode and using
the ENTER key to scroll to the Ilim field value located at the bottom of this screen.

NOTE: If the Ilim = value is set higher than the maximum available current for the range, the
amplifier hardware limit will come in first so the Constant Current Mode does not engage.
