Rice, Pasta and Cereal
Creamy Bacon Sauce
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
1 chopped onion 1
3 bacon rashers, 3

1 teaspoon minced garlic 5 ml

2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley 30 ml
Method:
In a 2 litre jug, mix onion, bacon and garlic. Cook on
HIGH for 4 minutes. Add cream cheese, pepper and
parsley. Cook HIGH for 3 minutes Serve with
fettuccine or your favourite pasta.
Rice Salad
Serves: 6 to 8
Ingredients:
2 cups long grain brown rice 500 ml
2 shallots (spring 2
onions), chopped
1 red capsicum (pepper), 1
chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped 2

cup dates, stoned and 85 ml

cup blanched almonds 60 ml

cup sunflower seeds 60 ml
Dressing:
2 tablespoons oil 30 ml
2 tablespoons unsweetened 30 ml
apple juice
2 tablespoons cider vinegar 30 ml
2 tablespoons bran 30 ml
1 teaspoon curry powder 5 ml
1 clove garlic, crushed 1
black pepper
Method:
Follow method for boiled brown rice recipe to cook
rice. Drain rice and allow to cool. Combine with
prepared ingredients. Prior to serving, pour dressing
over.
Salad dressing:
Shake all ingredients in a screw top jar until well
mixed.
Spaghetti Meat Sauce
Serves: 4 to 6
Ingredients:
500 g minced beef 500 g
1 onion, chopped 1
1 teaspoon minced garlic 5 ml
425 g can tomato 425 g
1 cup tomato paste 250 ml
2 beef stock cubes 2
1 tablespoon dried mixed herbs 15 ml
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 15 ml
pepper
Method:
In a 3 litre dish mix all ingredients. Cook on HIGH
for 9 minutes. Stir. Cook MEDIUM HIGH 9 minutes.
Stir. Cook MEDIUM HIGH for another 9 minutes.
