Convenient functions
Changing the unit’s settings
Refer to the control reference on page 41.
You can restart auto channel setting if Preset Download or Auto-
Setup (➡page 10, 11) fails for some reason.
After performing steps 1–3 (➡page 45)
∫ Auto-Setup Restart
4 Press [3, 4] to select “Auto-Setup
Restart” and press [ENTER].
5 Press [2, 1] to select “Yes” and
press [ENTER].
The country setting menu appears.
6 Press [3, 4, 2, 1] to select a
country and press [ENTER].
Auto-Setup starts.
∫ Download from TV
4 Press [3, 4] to select “Download
from TV” and press [ENTER].
5 Press [2, 1] to select “Yes” and
press [ENTER].
Downloading from the television starts.
To exit the screen
Press [RETURN] several times.
To return to the previous screen
Press [RETURN].
If pictures are distorted, change the settings to match the equipment
you are connecting with.
1 While stopped
Press [FUNCTIONS].
2 Press [3, 4, 2, 1] to select “SETUP”
and press [ENTER].
3 Press [3, 4] to select “Connection”
and press [1].
4 Press [3, 4] to select “TV System”
and press [ENTER].
5 Press [3, 4] to select the TV system
and press [ENTER].
≥PAL (factory preset)
–Select when connecting to a PAL or Multi-system
television. Titles recorded using NTSC are played as PAL
60.
–Select to record television programmes and PAL input from
other equipment.
≥NTSC
–Select when connecting to a NTSC television. Television
programmes cannot be recorded properly.
–Select to record NTSC input from other equipment.
6 Press [2, 1] to select “Yes” and
press [ENTER].
To exit the screen
Press [RETURN] several times.
To return to the previous screen
Press [RETURN].
∫ To change the setting all at once (PAL!#NTSC)
While stopped, keep pressing [∫] and [< OPEN/CLOSE] on the
main unit for 5 or more seconds.
