Overview

Panasonic Humidifying Air Purifier F-VR901 / F-VR701

This document provides operating instructions for the Panasonic Humidifying Air Purifier models F-VR901 and F-VR701, designed for indoor use only.

Function Description

The Panasonic Humidifying Air Purifier is a multi-functional device that combines air purification with humidification. It is designed to remove various airborne pollutants and maintain a comfortable humidity level in indoor environments. The device utilizes a "Mega catcher" system to detect and capture dirt in the air, with the front panel opening widely to suck in air from below. It also incorporates "nanoe™ technology" for enhanced purification, which is effective against various allergens, bacteria, and viruses. The "Airflow for cleaning" feature ensures thorough air cleaning even during absence, reducing dust by up to 70%. Additionally, the "Clothes refresh" operation deodorizes clothes without washing. The "ECONAVI" operation automatically stops purification when the air is clean, saving energy. The "Light sensor mode" adjusts the brightness of indicators and the front panel illumination based on ambient light. The "Presence sensor" detects human movement and automatically starts purification.

Usage Features

The air purifier offers various operating modes and settings for optimal performance:

  • Initial Setup: Before first use, users need to write down the installation date on the label, remove the deodorizing filter from its polybag, and install the composite air filter and deodorizing filter into the unit. The water tank must be filled with tap water (not hot water, mineral water, or well water) and then connected to the power supply.
  • Operating Modes:
    • Start/Stop: Press the "Power On/Off" button to start or stop the unit.
    • Humidification: Users can select desired humidity levels (High, Medium, Low) or turn off humidification. The unit will beep to confirm the selection. A "Water supply" indicator will blink if the water tank is empty.
    • Air Volume/Airflow: The device allows for automatic adjustment of air volume or manual selection (Quiet, Medium, High, Rapid). Airflow can also be changed based on the type of dirt detected (odor, smoke, house dust).
    • PM2.5 Mode: This mode intensively removes PM2.5 particles. The unit operates automatically until the detected PM2.5 concentration is below the set value (35 μg/m³).
    • Housekeeping Assist Mode: This mode is designed for cleaning the air when no one is present (Preparation mode, Cleaning mode) and for refreshing clothes (Clothes refresh mode).
    • Timer: A timer can be set for 2, 4, or 8 hours, after which the product stops automatically.
    • Child Lock: This feature prevents accidental operation by children.
  • Indicators: The control panel features various indicators for brightness, timer, housekeeping assist, PM2.5, airflow direction, air volume, humidity, and power on/off. Front indicators also provide visual cues for operation status.
  • ECONAVI Operation: This intelligent feature detects indoor brightness and human presence to optimize operation, reducing energy consumption. It also includes a "Learning mode" that memorizes daily dirt generation patterns.
  • Louver Movement: The front panel and louvers adjust automatically to optimize airflow for efficient dirt collection.
  • Sensor Technology: The device incorporates multiple sensors:
    • Presence Sensor: Detects human movement to initiate purification.
    • PM2.5 Sensor: Monitors PM2.5 concentration.
    • Odor Sensor: Detects odors.
    • Humidity Sensor: Measures indoor humidity.
    • Light Sensor: Adjusts display brightness based on ambient light.
    • Water Supply Sensor: Detects water level in the tank.

Maintenance Features

Regular maintenance is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of the air purifier.

  • Deodorizing Filter: No maintenance is required for this filter. If dust has accumulated, it should be removed with a vacuum cleaner or similar appliance. Replacement is recommended every 10 years.
  • Composite Air Filter: This filter should be removed and cleaned with a vacuum cleaner or similar appliance approximately every 2 weeks. Replacement is recommended every 10 years.
  • Dirt Sensor: The lenses of the dirt sensor should be wiped regularly (approximately every 3 months) with a dry cotton swab.
  • Body and Front Panel: Wipe with a soft, wrung cloth approximately once a month.
  • Water Tank: Wash with water every day. Remove stubborn stains by soaking.
  • Anti-Fungus Assembly: Remove and wash with water approximately once a month. Soak to remove stubborn stains.
  • Humidifying Filter Set:
    • Removal: Remove the 5 tabs around the filter frame.
    • Washing: Wash the filter frame and filter holding frame with water. Do not scrub with a brush or wash with washing machine. Do not use detergent.
    • Return: Insert the humidifying filter into the filter frame, ensuring it does not protrude. Align the triangle lugs with the triangle notches.
    • Soaking: To remove stubborn stains, dissolve neutral detergent for kitchen purposes or citric acid in warm water (below 40°C), soak the parts for 30 minutes, rinse with clean water 2 to 3 times, and then rinse enough until no remaining detergent is present.
  • Louver Installation: If the louvers come off, they can be reinstalled by inserting the shape lug into the hole on the right side of the product, bending the middle of the louver slightly, and inserting the rear louver.
  • Floater Installation: If the floater comes off, insert the lug of the floater into the hole of the tray, then press in the direction of the arrow and insert into the hole on the other side of the tray.
  • Long-Term Storage: When the unit is not in use for an extended period, disconnect the power plug, empty the water tank and tray, clean all parts, and cover the product with a polybag. Store in a cool, dry place.

Important Notes:

  • Always disconnect the power plug before cleaning or maintenance.
  • Do not use detergents, abrasive cleaners, or other substances on the unit.
  • Ensure proper installation of filters and components to prevent malfunction.
  • Refer to the troubleshooting section for solutions to common issues.
  • Contact an authorized service center for repairs or if issues persist.
