  If your unit doesn't record new messages, there might be several reasons. First, check if the answering system is turned off and turn it on. Also, the message memory might be full, so erase unwanted messages. Additionally, the recording time could be set to “Greeting only”, so change the setting. If you subscribe to a voice mail service, messages are recorded by your service provider, not your telephone, so change the unit’s number of rings setting or contact your service provider.

  If you cannot operate the answering system, it could be because someone else is currently using the unit, or a caller is leaving a message. Wait for the other user or caller to finish. Also, the handset may be too far from the base unit, so move closer.

  If you cannot hear a dial tone, first check the connections. If the connections are correct, disconnect the base unit from the telephone line and connect the line to a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your service provider/telephone company.

  If you cannot operate the answering system remotely, the remote access code may not be set. Set the remote access code. You may be entering the wrong remote access code, so check your current code. Ensure you press each key firmly. The answering system may be turned off, so turn it on.

  If the unit does not work, make sure the batteries are installed correctly. Fully charge the batteries. Check the connections. Unplug the base unit’s AC adaptor to reset the unit and reconnect the adaptor. The handset may not have been registered to the base unit, so register the handset.
