  If your Panasonic telephone's main unit has no power or link, confirm that the base unit’s AC adapter is correctly connected to both the unit and the power outlet. If the handset has lost communication with the base unit, move closer and try again. You can also try unplugging the base unit’s AC adapter to reset it, then reconnect it. If these steps don't work, the handset’s registration may have been canceled, so re-register the handset.

  In order to use Caller ID, call waiting, or Call Waiting Caller ID (CWID) on your Panasonic telephone, you must first contact your phone service provider and subscribe to the desired service. After subscribing, you may need to contact your phone service provider again to activate this specific service, even if you already subscribed to both Caller ID and Call Waiting with Caller ID services (CWID).

  Several factors can prevent your Panasonic telephone from recording new messages. First, ensure the answering system is turned on. Second, the message memory might be full, so erase any unnecessary messages. Third, verify that the recording time isn't set to “Greeting only”; if it is, change the setting. Also, your phone service provider’s voicemail might be answering calls first; in that case, lower the unit’s number of rings setting, or contact your phone service provider. Finally, the answering system will not answer incoming calls while other devices such as handsets are engaged in a call.

  If you cannot register a handset to a base unit on your Panasonic telephone, the maximum number of handsets (6) is already registered to the base unit. Cancel unused handset registrations from the base unit.

  If your Panasonic telephone handset or base unit does not ring, the ringer volume might be turned off. Adjust the ringer volume. Also, silent mode might be turned on; turn it off. The ringer volume could also be turned off by pressing and holding 0 on the handset; press and hold 0 again to turn it on.
