6. Adjusting the Spring Pretension and Stroke Length
The spring pretension controls the reset force of the hand grips, the stroke limitation con-
trols the length of the pump stroke and, thus, the pump volume of the test kit.
The spring pretension and stroke length are adjusted using the knurled nut.
1 Screw the locking nut towards the bottom stop to release the fi xation of the
knurled nut.
2 Screw the knurled nut towards the top or bottom stop to adjust the spring pre-
tension and stroke length.
Ä Top stop: Spring pretension is increased, pump stroke is reduced.
Ä Bottom stop: Spring pretension is reduced, pump stroke is increased.
3 Screw the locking nut against the knurled nut to lock the knurled nut in place.

Stroke = max.
Spring = min.
Adjustment at top
stop:
Stroke = min.
Spring = max.
