Why Partner Trimmer engine will not start?

  If your Partner Trimmer engine won't start, there are several potential causes: * The ON/STOP switch may be in the STOP position. If so, move it to the ON position. * The engine might be flooded. Refer to “Starting a Flooded Engine” in the Operation Section for instructions. * The fuel tank could be empty. Refill it with the correct fuel mixture. * The spark plug may not be firing. Install a new spark plug. * Fuel may not be reaching the carburetor. Check for a dirty fuel filter and replace it if necessary. Also, inspect the fuel line for kinks or splits; repair or replace as needed. * The carburetor may require adjustment. In this case, contact an authorized service dealer.

  If your Partner Trimmer engine is smoking excessively, it could be due to several reasons: * The choke may be partially on. Adjust the choke as needed. * The fuel mixture might be incorrect. Empty the fuel tank and refill it with the correct fuel mixture. * The air filter could be dirty. Clean or replace the air filter. * The carburetor may require adjustment. Contact an authorized service dealer to resolve this.

  If your Partner Trimmer engine won't accelerate, lacks power, or dies under a load, consider these possibilities: * The air filter may be dirty. Clean or replace it. * The spark plug might be fouled. Clean or replace the plug and regap it. * The carburetor may require adjustment. Contact an authorized service dealer. * There could be carbon build-up on the muffler outlet screen. Contact an authorized service dealer. * The engine compression may be low. Contact an authorized service dealer.
