This procedure provides a simple but effective way to
clean your Paslode Cordless Framing Nailer and main-
tain reliable operation. Regular cleaning and lubrication
will also extend part life and provide maximum nail
driving power.
Only
one
tool
is
necessary
to
disassemble the
Paslode
Cordless
Framing
Nailer
in
preparation
for
cleaning:
the
5/32"
hex
key
wrench
provided
with
the
Paslode
Cord -
less Framing Nailer.
Paslode
recommends
that
an aerosol
"Cleaner/Degreaser”
or
Paslode
®
Cordless
Tool
Cleaner
(Part No. 219348),
(Canada use Part No. 219086) (Australia, New Zealand
use Part No. B20544L)
This
cleaner
is
available through your local Paslode Dealer.
If a different type of cleaner is selected, make sure that
it will not damage plastic, rubber or electronic compo-
nents. Chemical damage to these materials or compo-
nents may result in the tool being made inoperable.
Although "safety" cleaners generally provide reduced
risk of fire and are more stable than other cleaners, they
cannot be handled carelessly. Always follow the manu-
facturer's instructions and never spray cleaner on the
Paslode Cordless Framing Nailer, unless the tool has
been allowed to cool down.
To begin, you will need the following items:

Summary

Handle-Magazine Removal

Handle-Magazine Assembly Removal

Remove the Handle-Magazine Assembly by taking out socket head cap screws from the nose piece.

Grille and Air Filter Cleaning

Clean the grille and air filter in soapy water or with Paslode Cordless Tool Cleaner/Degreaser.

Cap and Air Filter Removal

Remove the cap and air filter by unscrewing the four socket head cap screws.

Separate Tool Assemblies

Carefully tilt and pull apart the Handle-Magazine and Motor Assemblies.

Cylinder Head Cleaning and Lubrication

Spray Cylinder Head with Cleaner

Spray the Cylinder Head with cleaner/degreaser and allow dirt and debris to drip off.

Wipe and Clean Components

Wipe off remaining cleaner/dirt, ensuring Seal Rings and Spark Plug are clean.

Lubricate Seal Rings

Thoroughly lubricate the Seal Rings with Paslode Cordless Lubricating Oil.

Motor Assembly Cleaning and Lubrication

Position Piston Assembly

Push the Piston Assembly to the "down" position.

Clean Sleeve and Combustion Chamber

Spray cleaner into Sleeve and Combustion Chamber, then invert Motor Assembly to drain.

Wipe Motor Assembly Components

Wipe off any remaining cleaner or dirt from the Motor Assembly components.

Lubricate Sleeve and Chamber Lip

Apply oil to the Sleeve and the lower lip of the Combustion Chamber.

Distribute Lubricant

Push and release Motor Assembly to distribute oil on the Combustion Chamber lip.

Distribute Oil in Sleeve

Manually push the Driver Blade up and down to distribute oil in the Sleeve.

Lubricate Combustion Chamber Top

Apply oil evenly spaced around the top of the Combustion Chamber.

Reassemble the Nailer

Reassemble the Paslode Cordless Framing Nailer following disassembly steps in reverse order.
