PassTime USA CONFIDENTIAL
PassTime GPS Install Guide v 2.5 Pg. 3 December 2010
Connecting the Pink Ignition Wire
The pink wire provides the ignition signal to the GPS unit. Connections should be soldered and taped
to provide a good electrical connection. Connectors have been provided, if you are unable to solder
the wires. Connect the pink wire to an ignition wire in the vehicle. The vehicle's ignition wire will
have 12 volts when the key is in the "ON" position and
the “Crank” position, and no power on it
when the key is in the “OFF” position. Be sure to verify that there is still power on the ignition wire
when the key is in the start (crank) position. It is best to verify the voltage using a multi-meter.
PassTime recommends that you avoid using a 12 volt light tester.
