all use µ-law. Most of Europe and the rest of the world
use A-law. A few countries such as Korea use both µ-
law and A-law.
Configuration is automatic with almost all central
sites. In the unlikely event that you have to
change the default setting, you can use the follow-
ing commands:

The results of these commands are stored automati-
cally in non-volatile memory and do not change with
an AT&F command or when the modem is powered
down.
