Why is there low or no chlorine production in my Pentair Water Filtration System?
    • M
      Mark LeeAug 8, 2025
Several factors can cause low or no chlorine production. You may need to increase chlorine production. Ensure the salt level is at 4000ppm and check stabiliser (Cyanuric) levels. Adjust the PH between 7.2-7.4. Increase the running time. If there are high phosphate levels, add starver. Also, check the connection at the junction box on the underside of the unit.

What to do if my Pentair Water Filtration System has no flow and the chlorine output LEDs are flashing?

      Katie CombsAug 12, 2025
If there is no flow and the chlorine output LEDs are flashing, ensure the pump is turned on and the valve is open. Check all O-rings and grease them, and clean or backwash the filter. Make sure the water level is adequate. Clean the probe in a mild hydrochloric acid if there is calcium build-up on the water probe sensor.

What to do if my Pentair Water Filtration System shows 'High Salt Red LED illuminated'?
    • K
      Karen NelsonAug 16, 2025
If the 'High Salt Red LED' is illuminated, it indicates that the salt level is too high (above 4500ppm). Turn the chlorine control clockwise until salt levels reduce. Note that this does not reduce the salt levels in the pool water, but it reduces the chlorine output of the chlorinator to protect it.

What to do if my Pentair Water Filtration System has an abnormal calcium build-up in the cell?
    • G
      George SchmidtAug 20, 2025
If there's abnormal calcium build-up in the cell, it could be due to extremely high calcium levels in the swimming pool water or water chemistry issues. Reduce the calcium level in the pool by lowering the water level and refilling with clean water, use a calcium reduction agent, and clean the cell with a mild HCl solution.

What to do if the timer times-out of sync on my Pentair Water Filtration System?
    • B
      bobbypetersonAug 25, 2025
If the timer is out of sync, check the setting procedure. If the chlorinator is installed on an off-peak tariff, the timer will need a battery backup. Also, ensure the Timer / Off / Manual switch is switched correctly.

Why is the 'Over temperature Red LED' on my Pentair Water Filtration System illuminated?
    • J
      Julie SellersAug 29, 2025
If only the 'Over temperature Red LED' is illuminated, it could be due to salt levels being too high (above 4500ppm). Turn the chlorine control clockwise until salt levels reduce. Note that this does not reduce the salt levels in the pool water, but it reduces the chlorine output of the chlorinator to protect it. It may also be due to the unit being installed in an area with extremely high ambient temperature, so ensure adequate cooling and install it outside of the extreme temperature area.

What to do if my Pentair Water Filtration System has no lights?
    • A
      andreayangSep 2, 2025
If there are no lights, check if the circuit breaker has tripped and reset it. Also, check for a mains power failure and inspect the switches and switchboard circuit breaker.
