What to do if my Pentair Sta-Rite DMC motor will not run?

  If your Pentair Water Pump motor won't run, first, make sure the disconnect switch is turned on. If it is on, check the fuse; a blown fuse could be the issue, so replace it. Also, inspect the circuit breaker and reset it if it's tripped. If these steps don't solve the problem, the starting switch might be defective and needs replacement. Remember to disconnect the power before replacing it. Finally, check all wires at the motor to ensure they are tightly connected and wired correctly. Disconnect power before checking and tightening any wiring.

  If your Pentair Water Pump motor runs hot and the overload kicks off, or if the motor doesn't run and only hums, it could be due to incorrect wiring. Refer to the wiring instructions to ensure it's properly connected. Another potential cause is low voltage. Check the voltage being supplied to the motor. If the wire size is too small, install heavier wiring, referring to the electrical/wiring chart for guidance.

What to do if Pentair Sta-Rite DMC Water Pump does not deliver water to full capacity?

  If your Pentair Water Pump isn't delivering water to its full capacity, it could be due to several reasons. If the water level in the well is lower than expected, especially if it's more than 25 feet to the water, you might need a deep well jet. Corroded or limed steel piping can also cause excess friction, so replace it with plastic pipe if possible, or with new steel pipe. Insufficient pipe size can restrict water flow, so re-pipe using the size of the suction and discharge ports on the pump. Finally, the pump might not be getting enough water, in which case you should add additional well points.
