If the pump doesn't prime because there is not enough water, check the water level to ensure the skimmer isn't drawing air. If the pump doesn't come out of priming mode, ensure suction lines, pump, strainer, and pump volute are full of water. If the pump completes priming mode too early, adjust priming range to a higher setting. A clogged pump strainer basket can also cause pump failure, so clean the pump strainer pot. Finally, a defective pump strainer gasket can cause this issue, so replace the gasket if necessary.
