Troubleshooting Section
When a fault is detected and the engine is above the
predetermined
safe speed, the engine will reduce
speed to the safe speed.
When a fault is
detected and the engine is below the
predetermined safe speed, the engine will match the
correct speed.
The throttle switch is ignored by the ECM until the
fault is repaired.
ThethrottleswitchwillalsobeignoredbytheECM
until the keyswitch has been turned to the OFF
position and
then back to the ON position.
Troubleshooting:
Proceed to “Test Step 1” if the engine is equipped
with a throttle switch.
Proceed to “Test Step 2” if the engine is equipped
with a throttle position sensor.
Test Step 1.
Perform the
following diagnostic procedure: Throttle
Switch Circuit - Test”
Results:
OK STOP.
Test Step 2.
Perform the
following diagnostic procedure: Throttle
Position Circuit - Test”
Results:
OK STOP.
