Fuel tank breathers Check for proper function; clean the drain hoses. X
Fuel tank straps Check the strap tightness; tighten to proper torque value as required:
-Aluminum tank: 30 Lb. ft. (41 N.m.)
-Cylindrical Steel tank: 8 Lb. ft. (11 N.m.)

Fuel tank steps Check for snug fit of side plates against tank and tank straps.
Check for damaged or broken steps, missing bolts, and missing
grommet between tank and side plate. Replace missing or dam-
aged parts and adjust for fit as required.
