PART 4: CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS
PB1319 (CAT. NO. 5296 ) —45— 22-01691 (R02/02)
Manifold Pressure Gauge
Your manifold pressure gauge indicates the power your engine is put-
ting out by showing the amount of turbo boost. If the pressure indi-
cated by your manifold pressure gauge goes down, there may be
something wrong with your engine. Have it checked by a qualified
service person.
Pyrometer
The pyrometer gauge indicates engine exhaust gas temperature.
Since it responds almost immediately to changes in exhaust gas tem-
perature, the pyrometer is an excellent indicator of engine output.
Monitor it in conjunction with the tachometer and manifold pressure
gauge. The pyrometer can be a useful aid to operating your vehicle
more efficiently and avoiding sudden changes in engine operating
temperature. See your engine owners manual for maximum temper-
ature recommendations.
