6. Machine Works Heavily
Cause:
Motor belt is too loose and slips, or
has shrunk and causes excessive
pressure
on bearings .
Hook
raceway locks oi l or ts ob-
structed by pieces of thread.
Mechanism
clogged by inferi or oil.
Bobbin winder working while sew-
ing {when o bobbin is not being
filled).
Remedy:
Shorten belt or insert a piece of
belting to lengthen it {cut ends of
belt on the straight and abut. Punch
holes into be lt from grain side).
Clean and o il hook raceway.
Use only pfaff sewing machine oil -
never
salad oi l or glycerine. Note
illustrations on pages 40 and 41.
Stop bobbin winder .
