output settings
If an external screen is correctly connected to
this system, you can adjust the settings for audio
and video output.
Press SETUP to access the menus.
• To exit the menus, press SETUP again.
• To toggle through menu items, press
/ .
• To enter the second level menu items,
press
or OK.
• To conrm an option, press OK.
• To return to the rst level menu items,
press
.
• To highlight a tab icon, press
repeatedly to return to the rst level
menu items, and then press

repeatedly.
• To access another tab, highlight the
current tab icon, and then press

Select a color system that matches the
external screen.
• [NTSC] - For a screen with NTSC
color system
• [PAL60] - For a screen with PAL60
color system
• [PAL] - For a screen with PAL color
system
• [AUTO] - For a screen that is
compatible with PAL, PAL60, and
NTSC
• [TV TYPE] (TV type)
Select an aspect ratio of display to match
the external screen.
• [4:3PS] (4:3 pan scan) - For a 4:3
screen: full-height display with the
trimmed sides
• [4:3LB] (4:3 letter box) - For a 4:3
screen: wide-screen display with black
bars on the top and bottom of the
screen
• [16:9] - For a wide-screen: display ratio
16:9
• [PASSWORD] (Password)
Set a password to restrict the play of
certain discs.
• To set the password, enter the four-
digit password with numeric buttons,
and then press OK to conrm.
• If a password is required for a disc,
enter the set password, and then press
OK to conrm.
• The default password is 0000. If you
forget the set password, enter 0000.
• [RATING] (Rating)
For a DVD that has a parental level
assigned to the complete disc or to certain
scenes, you can set a playback permission
level with this setting. To play a DVD that
is rated above the level, you need to enter
the four-digit password and choose a
higher level rating.
• [1 KID SAFE] - Suitable for children.
• [2 G] - Recommended as acceptable
for viewers of all ages.
• [3 PG] - Parental guidance suggested.
