5.5 Used components
Table 4: Used components
Component Value Comment Purpose Effect when value is changed
Schottky diode BYV10-40 Schottky diode To prevent that the negative
terminal of the lifter
capacitors is pulled below
substrate level when the
supply voltage drops.
Without Schottkys:
In stand-by: Possibly plops
In operating: Possibly “audio holes
Cin1, Cin2 100nF MKT Input DC coupling Lower: Low frequency rolloff will shift to
higher frequency.
Higher: Low frequency rolloff will shift to
lower frequency.
Csup1 2200µF/16V Electrolytic
capacitor
Buffer capacitor Lower value: Worse SVRR
Csup2 100nF SMD, NPO or X7R
material
HF decoupling of the supply Lower value: possibly oscillations in the
supply
Cref 10µF/16V Electrolytic
capacitor
Decoupling of internal
reference voltage, timing for
load detection circuit.
Lower value: Worse SVRR and possibly
malfunction of load detection circuit
Clift 4700µF/16V Electrolytic
capacitor
Supply lift capacitors Lower value: Less power at low frequencies
ESR influences maximum output power.
C-emi < 100pF EMI capacitor Filter out EMI from external
sources
Lower value: less EMI suppression
Higher value: possible instability of the
amplifier.
When higher values than 100pF are used,
Boucherot (Zobel) filters (10, 47nF) should
be placed near the outputs.
These are the components which are advised for the standard TDA1562 application.
When the amplifier is mainly used for driving a subwoofer, increasing the size of the lift
capacitors is strongly advised.
