If, contrary toexpectation, you have anyproblems using this
video recorder, itmay be caused by one of thereasons
mentioned below. You can alsocall the customer service
centre in your country.
You will find the phone numberin the enclosed guarantee
leaflet.
Your video recorder doesnot respond to any buttonbeing
pressed:
There is nopower supply: checkthe power supply
A programmedrecording is currentlybeing made: cancelthe
programmed recordingwith the
TV/STANDBYm button.
Continuous playbackis on: switchthe continuous playback off.
There is atechnical problem: switchoff the mains powersupply
for 30 seconds,then switch iton again. If this doesnot have any
effect, you can:
1. Switchoff the mains powersupply again.
2. Then switchit on whilst holding downthe
STANDBY m button
on the video recorder.
3. Releasethe button when ’--:--’or ’E1’ appearson the video
recorder display.All theinformation stored (TV channels,time
and date, TIMER) willbe cleared.
Cassette is jammedin the video recorder:
Don’t use force.Pull out the mainsplug for a moment.
Remote control does notwork:
Remote control notpointed toward the videorecorder: point itat
the video recorder.
Batteries haverun out: change the batteries.
No picture when you playa cassette:
There is norecording on the cassette:change the cassette.
You have chosen thewrong programme numberon the TV for
playing cassette:on the TV, selectthe correct programme
number for thevideo recorder.
The cable connecting theTV set and the video recorderhas
come loose:check the cable.
Poor picture qualitywhen you play a cassette:
Your TV set isnot properly adjusted.
The cassette badlyworn or of poorquality: use new cassette.
Tracking isnot properly adjustedor the video heads aredirty:
turn to chapter ’PLAYBACK’and read the section ’Cleaningthe
video heads’.
The video recorder willnot record:
The TV channel youwant to record isnot stored or you selected
the wrong programmenumber: check TVchannels stored.
You have loaded acassette which cannot be recordedon: undo
the erase protectionon the cassette.
Programmed recording doesnot work:
You have not setthe TIMER properly:check the TIMER blocks.
You have programmedthe wrong time ordate: check time and
date.
You have put ina cassette that cannot be recordedon: undo the
erase protectionon the cassette.
’PDC’ or’VPS’ switched on but’PDC/VPS time’ wrong:enter PDC
or VPS timeexactly to the minute.Have your aerialchecked.
After a ’programmedrecording with’SHOWVIEW’, the
programme numberof the TIMER blockwill not agree withthe
required programmenumber: when youhave confirmed the
SHOWVIEW programmingnumber, confirmthe TIMER block by
pressing the
TIMER button. Then change the programme
number displayedin the
PROG entryfield and confirm by
pressing the
TIMER button.
There is picture orsound interference on TV reception:
Turn to chapter ’ADDITIONALFUNCTIONS’ and read ’PoorTV
reception - optimisingthe modulator’and ’Switching offthe
modulator’.
Have youraerial checked.
