Battery (03_07)
This vehicle has three batteries: a 12V service battery and two 36V traction batteries.
These last batteries are under the saddle, protected by a cover. For safety reasons it
is absolutely forbidden to remove the cover to reach them. This operation must only
be done by an Authorised Service Centre.
To have access to the battery it is necessary to open the front case and remove the
fixing screw of the battery tank access door, as shown in the figure.
If the vehicle is not going to be used for a very long time, the batteries must be re-
charged periodically, approximately once every three months, connecting the cable
that is under the saddle to the electricity mains.
CAUTION
IN ORDER TO AVOID DAMAGING THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, NEVER DISCON-
NECT THE WIRING WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING.
CAUTION
ELECTROLYTE CONTAINS SULPHURIC ACID: AVOID CONTACT WITH EYES,
SKIN AND CLOTHES. IN CASE OF ACCIDENTAL CONTACT, RINSE WITH ABUN-
DANT WATER AND CONSULT A DOCTOR.
