TAILORED TO THE APPLICATION
Using a modular approach towards designing the Pinion E-
Drive System furthermore allowed us to develop several distinct
configurations and versions of the MGU. Depending on the
individual use-case, each version has either 9 or 12 gears with
a gear range of up to 600%, which is actuated by electronic
shifting.
Through software we offer Comfort and Performance tunes for
efficient and harmonious commuting, reliable long-distance
touring or super-agile off-road riding, as well as an additional
dedicated version for Speed-e-bikes. The different versions
come with individual tunes and settings perfectly tailored to
the intended use.
All MGU versions use 48 V technology and offer approximately
85 Nm of torque when compared to ordinary drive systems
without an integrated shifting system. When the internal
shifting system is considered, the system will deliver up to 160
Nm in first gear.
Maximum power is 600 Watts or 800 Watts for Speed Pedelecs.
The maximum support for the rider is 400% – and that’s with
an input of up to 250 Nm! An MGU and its integrated shifting
system runs virtually wear-free – all the maintenance needed
is an oil change after every 10 000 km of riding.
