SECTION 4 - NORMAL PROCEDURES
To operate as an Automatic Direction Finder:
OFF/VOL Control - ON
Frequency Selector Knobs - SELECT desired frequency.
ADF SPEAKER/PHONE Selector Switch (on audio control panel) -
SELECT as desired.
OFF/VOL Control - SET to desired volume level.
ADF Mode Control - Select ADF mode and note relative bearing on display.
ADF Test (Pre-flight or In-flight):
ADF Mode Control - Select ADF mode and note relative bearing on display.
Press the TEST button and note the pointer moves to 90° from its prior
position. Excessive pointer sluggishness, wavering or reversals indicate a
signal that is too weak or a system malfunction.
To Operate BFO:
OFF/VOL Control - ON
Frequency Selector Knobs - SELECT desired frequency.
ADF SPEAKER/PHONE Selector Switch (on audio control panel) -
SELECT as desired.
ADF Mode Control - Select BFO mode.
OFF/VOL Control - Set to desired volume level.
SECTION 5 - PERFORMANCE
No change.
SECTION 6 - WEIGHT AND BALANCE
Factory installed optional equipment is included in the licensed weight and
balance data in Section 6 of the Pilot’s Operating Handbook and Airplane
Flight Manual.
