11.1 filter overview
The filter module is a voltage controlled, analog, state variable filter. State
variable topology offers several filter output responses, highpass, lowpass, and
bandpass. Each producing a very smooth and natural sounding sweep."
The filter has defined sound of Pittsburgh Modular from the moment it was
introduced. A distinct sound that we have tweaked to perfection. It offers a
warm, organic sweep through the full frequency range. The lowpass filter is
gummy and relaxed while the highpass is clean and defined. The goal was to
produce a filter that did not have a sweet spot; where the every turn of the
frequency knob produced something interesting.
