Spark Arrestor Clean-Out
Periodically cl ean the spark arrestor to remove
accumulated carbon.
1. Remove the three screws (1) and remove the
arrestor (2) from the end of the muf fler.
2. Use a non-synthetic brush to clean the
arrestor screen (3). A synthetic brush may
melt if components are warm. If necessary,
blow debris from the screen with compressed
air.
3. Inspect the screen for wear and damage.
Replace if necessary.
4. Remove and inspect the gasket (4). R eplace if worn or damaged.
5. Reinstall the gasket and arrestor.
6. Torque screws to 50 in. lbs. (5.6 Nm).
