fuses

Additional
relays
and
fuses
are
located
in
the
driver's
footwell,
next
to
the
steering
column
.
Because
of
the
danger
of
short-circuits,
al-
ways
disconnect
the
battery
before
begin-
ning
work
on
the
electrical
system.
If
the
battery
is
disconnected,
the
data
for
the
engine
electronics
stored
in
the
control
unit
are
erased
.
When
the
battery
is
reconnected,
the
engine
should
be
run
for
approx
. 10
minutes
to
allow
the
control
unit
to
re-acquire
these
data.
During
this
period,
the
engine
may
idle
unevenly
or
too
fast.
Changing
a
Fuse
Switch
off
the
affected
system.
You
can
detect
a
blown
fuse
by
the
melted
met-
al
strip.
To
test
or
replace
a
fuse,
it
must
be
removed
from
the
spring
clamp
using
the
tool
provided
(C).
As
a
replacement,
use
only
fuses
of
the
same
rating.
Note
:
Should
a
fuse
blow
several
times,
an
Olllcia
l
Porsche
Centre
should
be
consulted.
It
is
advisable
to
carry
spare
fuses
of
the
differ
-
ent
ratings
in
the
vehicle.
In
the
main
fuse
box
there
are
spaces
for
spare
fuses
(B).
Relays
The
testing
and
replacing
of
a
defective
relay
should
be
performed
by
an
Official
Por
sche
Centre
.
If
you
require
a
wiring
diagram
your
Official
Porsche
Centre
will
be
glad
to
help
you
.
However,
to
prevent
damage
to
electrical
or
electronic
components,
you
are
advised
to
have
all
work,
including
the
fitting
of
electri-
cal
accessories,
done
by
your
Official
Porsche
Centre.
Only
use
accessories
approved
by
Porsche
.
