Installation guide
1. Produce a hole with a hammer drill:
– Diameter: 14 mm
– Drilling depth: 110 mm
TIP: Use a Hilti hollow drill bit type TE-CD or TE-YD
with Hilti vacuum connection.
2. Clean the drill hole: Blow out coarse dust until
the exiting air is dust-free.
– With a hand pump: Using the Hilti blow-out
pump, blow out the drill hole from the base
of the hole at least 4 times
– Compressed air cleaning (CAC): Blow out the
drill hole twice with oil-free compressed air,
from the base of the hole through its entire
length (min. 6 bar at 6 m

/h; use an extension
if necessary).
3. Check the correct hole depth of 110 mm with
the aid of the marking on the anchor rod:
– The drill hole must not be deeper than the
embedment depth.
– If the embedment depth is inadequate,
make the drill hole deeper.
4. Insert the Hilti HVU anchor capsule (with plastic
bag) fully into the drill hole.
5. Screw the anchor rod into the anchor capsule
with the embedment tool under moderate
pressure, with the drill’s hammer function
switched on (250 – 1000 rpm).
When the marked embedment depth is reached,
switch off the hammer drill.
6. Do not move the anchor rod during the curing

Information
Before inserting the pin, make sure the hole is free
from drilling dust and other impurities.
Poorly cleaned drill hole = low load-bearing capacity
