Bucking a log is cutting a log into sections. Make sure your footing
is firm. Keep feet apart. Divide your weight evenly on both feet.
When possible, raise the log or section off the ground. Do this by
using limbs, logs, chocks, etc.
When cutting through the log, maintain control by reducing the
cutting pressure near the end of the cut. Do not relax your grip
on the chainsaw handles. Do not let the moving chain touch the
ground. Ground will dull moving chain. After cutting through the
log, release the trigger to turn the chainsaw off before moving it.
Follow directions below to buck a log.
